Answers to the most common questions from authors, reviewers, and readers.
Submissions & Manuscript Preparation
All manuscripts must be submitted through our OJS (Open Journal Systems) platform. Register for a free author account, select the appropriate journal, and follow the five-step submission wizard. An automated confirmation email with your manuscript ID is sent upon successful submission.
No. Simultaneous submission constitutes duplicate submission and is a serious breach of publication ethics. After receiving a rejection from one TRJG journal, you may submit to a different one.
All three TRJG journals use APA 7th edition for all in-text citations and reference lists. DOIs must be included for all journal articles where available. See our Author Guidelines for formatted examples.
Yes. All TRJG journals use double-blind peer review. Remove all identifying information — name, institution, acknowledgements, self-referencing phrases — from the manuscript body and file properties before uploading. Your author details are entered separately in the OJS submission form.
Original research articles: 4,000–8,000 words (excluding references, tables, and figures). Review articles: up to 10,000 words. Short communications: not exceeding 3,500 words.
Peer Review & Editorial Process
Authors typically receive an initial editorial decision within 8–12 weeks of submission, covering desk review, plagiarism screening, reviewer assignment, and the review period. Track your submission status at any time through OJS.
(1) Accept — accepted for publication; (2) Minor Revision — small changes reviewed by editor only; (3) Major Revision — substantial revisions required, re-reviewed by original reviewers; (4) Reject — not suitable for publication in current form.
Yes. If you believe a rejection was based on a misunderstanding or unfair review, appeal in writing to the Editor-in-Chief within 14 days of the decision, including a detailed point-by-point response to reviewer comments. The Editor-in-Chief’s decision is final.
Fees, APCs & Open Access
Submission is completely free. An Article Processing Charge (APC) is payable only upon acceptance. There is no submission fee. Contact the relevant editor for current APC amounts.
Yes. TRJG offers waivers and discounts for: (a) authors from low-income countries; (b) postgraduate student authors; and (c) authors demonstrating genuine financial hardship. Waiver requests must be submitted at the time of manuscript submission.
Yes. All articles are permanently and freely available under CC BY 4.0. There are no subscription fees, registration requirements, or access restrictions of any kind.
After Acceptance & Publication
After acceptance, manuscripts undergo copyediting, typesetting, and author proofing — typically 2–4 weeks. TRJG publishes two issues per journal per year (June and December).
Yes. All articles receive a permanent CrossRef DOI in the format:
https://doi.org/10.56201/[journal].[volume].[issue].[year].[sequence]Yes. Authors retain copyright under CC BY 4.0 and are encouraged to deposit the final published PDF on personal websites, institutional repositories, ResearchGate, or Academia.edu immediately upon publication. Always include the full citation and DOI.
Use APA 7th edition. Example: Adeyemi, B. O., & Okonkwo, F. N. (2025). Peer teaching methods and academic performance. The Researcher’s Journal, 6(1), 1–18. https://doi.org/10.56201/trj.v6.n1.2025.01
